What happens to your recording.
Your voice belongs to you. Here is how House of Meanwhile handles it.
Before you submit
Microphone access begins only when you press record. Your draft stays in your browser until you submit. You can listen back, delete the draft, or close the page. No account, name, email, or written transcript is required.
When you submit
We store your recording, transcript, question, submission time, duration, permission version, and review status. For Saved Souls we also store the reason you choose for praying today. We may derive an approximate country from the hosting provider’s request information and show it with your public recording; we do not request GPS coordinates or store your street address.
Audio is stored privately in Vercel Blob before approval. Neon stores submission records. Vercel hosts the site and runs the processing workflow. Vercel AI Gateway sends the recording to OpenAI for transcription and the transcript for AI screening. Authorized human reviewers can hear your audio and read the transcript and AI flags. These service providers process data under their own service terms and retention policies.
Your voice and words can identify you even without a name. Share only what you are comfortable making public. Avoid private details about yourself or others.
Public sharing is the submission
New Saved Souls submissions offer your audio, checked transcript, approximate country, and first-time or rededication choice for public sharing after review. An approved prayer contributes one to the commitment count. New Collection Plate submissions offer your response to the public stream, question playlists, and the Meanwhile app. The Terms also explain social sharing and the separate permission for Collection Plate productions.
Earlier private choices remain private. No previous submission receives broader permission because these terms changed. Collection Plate recordings do not count as Saved Souls commitments.
Automatic transcription, then human review
AI creates a transcript from the audio and highlights issues such as private information, threats, spam, or words that need checking. It does not determine anyone’s faith or salvation. A person listens and checks the transcript before approving publication. Processing failures stay unpublished and can be retried. The public count represents approved prayer recordings, not verified unique people.
Your private receipt
Keep the receipt link you receive after submitting. It lets you check status and remove your recording without an account. Anyone with that link can remove it. We cannot recover a lost receipt from account details because we do not collect them.
Removal disables public playback and excludes the prayer from the count, deletes the audio, and clears the transcript, title, location, and screening notes from the submission record. A minimal removed-record entry remains so the receipt can confirm removal. Declined audio is also removed. Pending and approved recordings remain stored until removed. Hosting backups and processing logs may persist for their providers’ retention periods.
Copies already downloaded, shared on social platforms, or released in permitted productions may not be recallable. Sharing controls never include your private receipt in a public link.
Technical information
Providers process request information to deliver and protect the service. The site uses short-lived hashed request identifiers for abuse limits, and a secure session cookie for owner review. Listening and contributing do not require a login. There are no advertising trackers added by this site. Opening a social sharing tool takes you to that platform’s own privacy practices.
